Expendables 4 aims for 2017 release; Terry Crews' return depends on Sylvester Stallone, Jack Nicholson for villainous role?

By

The fourth installment to Sylvester Stallone's action franchise, currently dubbed as Expendables 4 is believed to be in the works. However, with the success and several award nominations the renowned actor is rumored to leave the franchise.

The team of elite mercenaries' return to the big screen is expected in the upcoming Expendables 4, however, fellow cast member Terry Crews stated that his return as Caesar depends on Stallone's return as Barney Ross. According to We Got This Covered, rumors have surfaced that Stallone might opt to focus more on Creed 2 following the Golden Globe award he received for the film, and the Academy Award nomination.

"He's got a lot more choices now. My thing is, really, whether he wants to do it or not. Because if he wants to do it, I'm in, like, there's no stopping me. It's really up to Sly, because this is his baby, his creation, and if he wants to do another one, I'm in.", Crews said in a previous interview. As reported by Ecumenical News, co-star Jason Statham also shared his willingness to do another film so long as Stallone would want him back in the movie.

With the success of Creed rumors suggested that Stallone might be keener on the production of Creed 2. However, as reported by Youth Health Magazine, his character and involvement in the production of Expendables 4 is very critical especially since the entire franchise started with him.

Plot details for Expendables 4 is currently unknown, but latest rumblings in the rumor mill suggest that the upcoming installment might feature Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson as villain, although Stallone is also rumored to be eyeing on Jack Nicholson for the baddie role. No official release date has been attached for the movie, but it is rumored to be aiming at a 2017 release.
