Tekken 7: Fated Retribution, the much-awaited expansion and update to the Tekken 7 title, was announced not too long ago, and rendered the fans surprised with possibly the biggest move ever done by the series. Gouki or Akuma, as some may know, was officially included to the cast and with it, many wonder as to what the real deal is for the Capcom-Bandai Namco cross.
According to N4BB, fans of the Tekken franchise were baffled by the addition of Street Fighter's classic character Gouki or better known as Akuma to the roster. Given that the preparation of Tekken X Street Fighter has been talked about by both Ono and Harada, the purpose of Akuma is yet to be further disclosed.
As per Latin Post, trailers showed that Akuma seemingly is indebted to Kazumi Mishima, as he claims to one day be able to repay what is due. As this stirs up controversy to the masses, it was not clear to other fans whether Kazumi was the source of the power that Akuma has, or if it was something else entirely. Nevertheless, Bandai Namco and Capcom declared that Akuma will be the only one in the Street Fighter roster to go into the world of Tekken and will most likely be elaborated once the console version arrives.
Furthermore, Ecumenical News noted that Tekken 7: Fated Retributions' arcade version was said to soon be launched around July of this year, but fans will have to be a little more patient with the console version. Rumors claim that the title's possible spawning to the consoles will take until most likely late 2016 to early 2017.
Tekken 7: Fated Retribution brings a whole new batch of updates for the vanilla version of Tekken 7, with the Rage Attack system being included in the gameplay mechanics. The entire Tekken 7 franchise is known to run on Unreal Engine 4, which is the first time for the whole series. Stay posted for more Tekken 7: Fated Retribution updates.
