San Diego Officials said they have numerous tips but no confirmed sighting of the missing 16-year-old girl Hannah Anderson who was kidnapped by a longtime family friend, the Los Angeles Times reported.
"We think she's in grave danger. Realistically we don't know where they're going. We're keeping a wide net and hopefully we'll find them. We're looking everywhere," Lt. Glenn Giannantonio told Fox 5 San Diego.
Friends of the family gathered at the vigil at El Capitan High School. Hannah Anderson's brother is believed to be dead.
James Lee DiMaggio is suspect of killing Anderson's mother Christina, a 44-year-old from Lakeside. He then reportedly kidnapped one of both of her children. An Amber Alert advised freeway motorists, television viewers and mobile phone subscribers about a blue Nissan Versa with California license plates that DiMaggio was believed to be driving. The California Highway Patrol said the suspect could be headed to Texas or Canada, CBS News reported.
The FBI joined the search and the Amber Alert was later extended to Mexico's Baja California state, which borders Boulevard.
At the vigil, Hannah Anderson's friend Haley Wilcock told the local Fox affiliate, "We have hope still that she's still out there. And we hope that she somehow hears about this and knows that we're all here for her and praying for her."
DiMaggio had been considered a close family friend and the children considered like an uncle, news reports said. Brett Anderson, the father of the two children, made a public statement to reporters: "Jim, I can't fathom what you were thinking. Let my daughter go. You've taken everything else."
