With showrunner Damon Lindelof's announcement that season 3 will be The Leftovers' last, fans are expecting it to go out with a bang. Who better else to start the spark than a returning, vengeful Meg Abbott, the leader of the cult, The Guilty Remnant.
Digital Spy says that Liv Tyler, the 38-year-old star who plays Meg, is looking forward to her comeback. At the end of season 2, Jarden, the so-called miracle town in Texas, had been overrun by the Guilty Remnant which Abbott heads. Jarden, the so-called miracle town, has been regarded s the haven of the survivors who had been left behind by the massive disappearance of millions of their families and friend. The reason: it is the only city in the world who had not experienced any of its few thousands of its citizens vanishng in the global phenomenon known as the Departed.
It looks like good things happened in threes for Tyler: her winning Best Actress for TV at the Elle Style Awards Night 2016, her upcoming second child with British partner, David Gardner, and now her celebrated return to the show, which her colleagues and her fans welcome.
Still, Tyler is also as much as in the dark as the fans as to what will happen to her character, or what evil plots Meg will concoct. In Screencrush, she says, "that only Lindelof really knows what's going on." She elaborates, "We don't find out - Damon is quite secretive, especially when he's writing. He keeps everything to himself, and then usually he'll write to us in a big e-mail and share with us ... We sort of know when we're going to start filming, but we don't know exactly what's going to happen."
Tyler will be shooting the third season with her second pregnancy midway. Daily Mail shows she looks stunning - even blooming - during this phase. LIndelof would have to find a way to integrate this into Meg's storyline. It wouldn't be a surprise if he finds an unexpected twist for it.
