Anthony Weiner Caught Again: Mayoral Hopeful Admits to Additional Sexting, Marring His New Campaign (Video)

New York Mayoral hopeful Anthony Weiner, who resigned from Congress in disgrace in 2011 after sending lewd messages to women online, has admitted to sending additional sexual messages that surfaced on the Internet this week, DNA Info reported.

TheDirty.com, the salacious web site claimed on Monday to have been contacted by a woman who said she carried on an online relationship with Weiner up to the summer of 2012. After being contacted by Weiner via Facebook, they began communicating regularly online and over the phone.

The anonymous woman also claims Weiner, who went by the screen name "Carlos Danger," offered to buy her a Chicago condominium where they could meet for occassional sex.

"I said that other texts and photos were likely to come out, and today they have," Weiner said in a statement Tuesday afternoon. "As I have said in the past, these things that I did were wrong and hurtful to my wife and caused us to go through challenges in our marriage that extended past my resignation from Congress. While some things that have been posted today are true and some are not, there is no question that what I did was wrong," Weiner added.

"This behavior is behind me. I've apologized to [wife] Huma and am grateful that she has worked through these issues with me and for her forgiveness."

It was not immediately clear from his statement whether these new online revelations occured before or after his resignation. Weiner ended by saying he and his wife "are focused on moving forward."

Weiner is making a bid to be mayor of New York after Mike Bloomberg's term expires in late 2013.
