Metallica to Reissue Two Albums in April

By

Earlier today, Metallica announced that they will be reissuing a couple of their albums in April. The heavy metal band has decided to reissue the first two albums they released -- the 1983 "Kill 'Em All" and 1984 "Ride The Lightning."

Metallica has picked the two albums to remaster the songs. What this means is that the tracks included in the albums will be remastered to produce the most advanced sound quality. Once the albums are available, they will be sold in three different formats-- vinyl, CD and a Deluxe Box set.

As revealed by the band, the Deluxe Box sets will be inclusive of original source material that comes straight from the band members' personal collection. Each box will contain a number of never before heard or seen recordings. It will also contain books with rare photos and essays that document the musical journey of the band as well as those who have been with them from day one.

Individually, NME shares that the "Ride The Lightning" Deluxe Box set will contain a deluxe book with unseen photos, a set of three posters, as well as a mini-book of lyrics personally handwritten by James Hetfield.

Considering these Deluxe Box sets are limited edition collectors' items, they will not be sold in a massive scale so it's best to check the band's website for full information on how to get your hands on a Box set. However, the Met Store now offers pre-orders for the two Deluxe Box sets. All new items from the band will start selling on April 15th, in time for Record Store Day.

As for when the band will be releasing their tenth studio album, Billboard shares that there's still no news on when the band will be coming up with a new album. But with the expected release of the two Deluxe Box sets, these could be more than enough for the band's die hard fans. In an interview with Rolling Stone, guitarist Kirk Hammett revealed that they (the band) are currently "slogging away" with the new album. Hammett explains that while they have "a bunch of songs, more than enough songs," the new album is "moving at a pace that allows us to live our lives and not have our lifestyles change too much."

Metallica has released nine studio albums. The last one "Death Magnetic" was released in 2008.
