Suicide Squad: Viola Davis terrified of Jared Leto during filming; NY Toy Fair hints Lex Luthor's appearance

The most unlikely beings will try to save the world in Suicide Squad. Aside from its intriguing story, many have been eagerly anticipating for Jared Leto's method acting while filming, which co-actor Viola Davis admitted to have terrified her at first. New toys for the DC film were also released hinting possible plot.

As reported by Moviefone, Davis revealed in her recent interview with Vanity Fair that Leto's gifts to the cast terrified her but eventually motivated her to do better. Leto is known for his method of acting which he used while filming the upcoming movie.

Cast members revealed that he sent a rat to Margot Robbie who played as his almost equally twisted love interest, Harley Quinn, bullets for Will Smith who plays Deadshot, and a hog for the entire cast. According to Davis, such "horrific gifts" terrified her but eventually motivated her.

"But the second part was, 'Oh, s--t, I've gotta have my stuff together.' You talk about commitment, and then he sends Margot Robbie a black rat. It was still alive, in a box. She screamed. And then she kept it.", Davis said.

Moreover, toys for the upcoming Suicide Squad were also unveiled during the New York Toy Fair. Each toy features similarity to characters, however, according to Movie Web, two characters that sparked curiosity was the bald version of Lex Luthor which sparked speculations that he might also be featured in the film.

Batman's costume with a mask also turned heads as its function remains unknown. However, some suggest that it could be device to help him breathe underwater since there are other rumors stating that a part of the movie will feature Batman hanging on Joker's car as it heads to the water. Although he is claimed to get off the vehicle before it hits the water, it's also possible that he still came after the Crown Prince of Crime underwater.

A recent fan-made trailer of a Suicide Squad and Guardians of the Galaxy mash-up also became viral. The mash-up trailer features the Bohemian Rhapsody background music for Suicide Squad with the visuals and lines from Guardians of the Galaxy. As reported by Time, Youtuber Robert Jones noted the unlikely grouping of the characters in the movies as well as their misfit to save the world.

Suicide Squad is set to be released on August 5. It is written and directed by David Ayer, and stars Karen Fukuhara, Joel Kinnaman, Jai Courtney, Adewale Akinnuoye-Agbaje, Jay Hernandez, Cara Delevingne, and Adam Beach.
