South Dakota Passed 'Bathroom Bill' To Separate Transgender Students

By

South Dakota aims to set boundaries for the first time towards trangender students. This was afer the Senate ruled out a bill on Tuesday that is coercing transgender students to use different lockers and restrooms as well.

The root cause of such bill is to make a new front line of the increasing public treatment of transgender individuals around. According to the Guardian, it was led by Governor Dennis Daugarrd, a Republican and quite amenable to the bill but hasn't signed it without studying the bill further. Nevertheless, South Dakota Senate passed the bill in a vote of 20 to 15, while the house passed it with 58 to 10 votes.

Times has made mention of Republican, Fred Deustche, in which he said, it is integral to keep and protect "bodily privacy rights" of both gender which this bill was measured up to. However, this does not force any transgender students to use the utility based on their sex but is calling out to schools to make "reasonable accommodations."

Yet there are still organizations, such as federal civil rights investigators, as well as those medical professionals that sees to this as an act of discrimination, not only to the LGBT community, but also to the youth who are the first persons to face a likely act. The term 'forcing' alone is atrigger of a vulgar act upon the transgender group. Theguardians reported that the Transgender Legal Center has warned, on Tuesday, that the new law of South Dakota may open up lawsuits and losses of their own federal funds.

In accordance to the bill which was delivered only a week ago, South Dakota passed a bill that cancels a policy of the South Dakota High School Activities Association, which allows transgender students to cooperate in sports according to their own identity. Another bill surfaced that averts anyone from taking "discriminatory action" against those of the LGBT community, preferably of the transgender people and allowing anyone to discriminate them under religious reasons.

This is saying so much to all shelters, clinics, and any other organizations to not take in any individuals who are in need and yet, they are still legal to do so. There are things that are bound to happen when it comes to privacy in these rooms, however, people need to do their own thing one way or the other.
