Daniel Craig quitting James Bond franchise for U.S. TV Series Purity?

Action star Daniel Craig has been the center of attraction for action movies. However, recently, people have been wondering on who's going to be the next James Bond. The actor has played the titular role for about four movies now, but there have been speculations that he will soon take a new path to hurdle new challenges.

According to The Sun, Daniel Craig has signed up for a U.S. TV series and might leave the James Bond role for good. Craig is believed to take part on Jonathan Franzen's "Purity" for about 20 episodes. Since last year, after starring in the hit movie "Spectre," the 47-year-old actor expressed that he would "rather slash my wrists" than having to play the 007 agent again. The movie "Spectre" has hit almost £600 million at the Box-Office, a record hit that was believed to give Craig another chance at the renowned character James Bond.

A lot of fans have already assumed that Daniel Craig will be the same James bond of the upcoming 007 movie, "James Bond 25," although the film is yet to be officially confirmed. In fact, some of Hollywood's high-profile directors reportedly said that Craig always depended on the franchise and its outcome. It is also worth noting that reports of potential actors carrying the new James Bond role have surfaced.

As for Deadline, the "Purity" TV series is not the first of its kind when it comes to having a dark-comedy theme. The story circles around a young American woman named Pip, who does not know who she is. Craig is believed to take the role of a German provocateur involved with a South American-based organization that traffics in all secrets of the world. Pip gets an internship in the said company in search for her identity.

The team up between Craig and Rudin will hold a big collaboration in all present movie series. It is a fact that the two have worked in the past in the movie called "The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo," as well as Mike Nicholas' Broadway production of "Betrayal." Rudin has managed to work with a field-on script, originally setup by HBO from the producer's deal.

As for who the next James Bond will be, it will still remain a mystery for the time being. Especially since Daniel Craig hasn't made his final decision yet.

Who do you think will be the next James Bond? Should it still be Daniel Craig or is it time for other actors to take the part? Let us know at the comments section below.
