A classical singer has confirmed the news that she will be leading a special tribute to Queen Elizabeth II. The 35-year-old singer, Katherine Jenkins, will be performing at the Hampton Court Palace Festival where she will be singing in honor of the Queen's 90th birthday. Along with her performance, she will also be releasing her 11th studio album.
Apart from Jenkins, there are several other updates under way for the Queen's special 90th birthday tribute. According to the Daily Mail, TV duo, Ant and Dec, have been chosen to perform for the Queen as well. The event will also welcome Dame Helen Mirren, who previously performed a role as Her Majesty in The Queen. Together with Mirren, TV presenter Alan Titchmarsh will be part of the event. Other performers include Caro Emerald, Jools Holland, Anastacia, Van Morrison, George Benson, and Sir Tom Jones.
As for the Royal Family, Kate Middleton has been said to have received the Queen's approval. The Duchess of Cambridge is said to be preparing for her part in a two-hour TV documentary; the first official TV interview ever since she was engaged to Prince William back in 2010. Closer Weekly reports that Middleton has won the Queen's approval after seeing her balance motherhood and her royal responsibilities with finesse. A source shares that the Queen believes Middleton is "doing a great job" as a young mom to her two children, and is a "wonderful wife" to her grandson, Prince William.
With the Queen's 90th birthday fast approaching, she has already cut down on her royal engagements, as reported by People magazine. The publication shares that she has put a stop to all "long-haul" travel and has started to appoint some of their 1300 patronages to younger members of their Royal Family.
The Queen's 90th birthday tribute, set on May 15th, will be a staged at the week-long Royal Windsor Horse Show held every year. Since this is a special event, it will be broadcasted live for everyone to witness and is being recognized as a "huge birthday party." The tribute will be a 90-minute event and will be attended by the celebrant herself.
