By

The news of the death of Supreme Court Justice Scalia shocked many people. The president himself was also surprised that the 79-year-old man passed away. Obama vowed that he will find someone to replace Justice Scalia's place as it is part of his responsibilities as a president.

As an earlier report stated, Obama will nominate someone who might possible replace Scalia's seat at the Supreme Court. Republicans will do everything to block Obama's nominees. However, there are still some names that Republicans might agree with Obama. Since Obama already placed two Supreme Court judges during his term, Sonia Sotomayor and Elena Kagan, he might add a third one before he leaves his office.

CNN reported that there are possible three to five people that Obama and the Republicans might agree to replace Scalia's position. First is the 48-year-old Indian-American U.S. Court of Appeals Judge in DC Circuit Sri Srinivasan. He was appointed by Obama back in 2013 and was confirmed unanimously by the Senate. He will be the first American-Indian Justice of Supreme Court if ever he will be nominated and accepted by the Senate.

Another one is the 50-year-old Asian-American, Vietnam born and currently in U.S. Court of Appeals for the 9th Circuit Jacqueline Nguyen. Her name has been mention several times after Scalia's death as her age fits perfectly to be a nominee. She will be the first Asian-Amrican woman to be Supreme Court Justice if ever she will get the spot.

Third name is the 63-year-old DC Circuit chief judge, Merrick Garland. According to USA Today he is the oldest nominee to be named. He was also been nominate two times before to be a Supreme Court Justice. Fourth one is the 51-year-old 8th U.S. Court of Appeals judge Jane Kelly. Obama also appointed her in 2012 and was also unanimously confirmed by Senate.

There are also other names that surfaces like Amy Klobuchar, the 55-year-old Senator from Minnesota. Another one is Patricia Millett; 52-year-old judge in D.C. Circuit. She is a popular nominee as both Democrats and Republicans like her.
