Yearbook Prank Felony: Kaitlyn Booth Arrested For Altering Classmate's Name in School Prank

By

Kaitlyn Booth, a 17-year-old female student at Hickman High School, is facing felony charges for pulling a prank in the annual year school yearbook, UPI reported.

Booth was charged with altering the last name of a fellow student Raigan Mastain to the word "Masturbate." This after the fact Mastain's name was approved by its staff. Booth was arrested on May 14.

"I was kind of annoyed. It was stupid, but I wasn't that upset," Mastain said later on. She was also shocked Booth was arrested.

"When you're in high school, you do stuff that is not necessarily the smartest, and this was an example of that," she said.

Hickman principal Tracey Conrad said once the name was discovered, the school resource officer contracted authorities and arrested Booth.

The yearbook staff collected the books that had already been handed out and covered the changed name to reflect Mastain's correct one.

Yearbook advisor Kim Acopolis said the process took about 12 hours rather than reprint all the yearbooks at a cost of about $41,000, UPI reported.
