Actress Catherine Zeta-Jones has returned home from treatment for her Bipolar II disorder, after having checked herself into a facility last month, People Magazine reported. Her husband Michael Douglas described it as a "10,000 mile check-up."

Zeta-Jones, an Oscar-winning actress, told the magazine that before her treatment that "this is a disorder that affects millions of people and I am one of them. If my revelation of having Bipolar II has encouraged one person to seek help, then it is worth it. There is no need to suffer silently and there is no shame in seeking help."

"Catherine has proactively checked into a health-care facility," Cece Yorke, her representative said. "Previously Catherine has said that she is committed to periodic care in order to manage her health in an optimum manner."

Douglas, meanwhile who battled stage 4 throat cancer, is starring in the HBO film "Behind the Candelabra," about the late flamboyant entertainer and singer Liberace. He is "proud of his wife," he said. "She's doing a really good job. I can't wait to see her," he added. Douglas is set to be honored on June3 by the American Cancer Society.
