Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge Leaked Photos Show Enormous Battery and Phone Color Options

By

Leaked photos of the upcoming Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge show a remarkably larger battery along with a host of color options.

With the Mobile World Congress in Barcelona, Spain edging closer to its opening date two weeks from now, more details of the South Korean tech manufacturer’s latest flagship have been making their way online.

Apart from photos of the actual device, press renders, features and specs surrounding the Galaxy S7 Edge have been revealed to the public, BGR reported.

Popular Twitter leakster, Evan Blass, who posted the first renders of the handset in early February, showcased a new image of the Galaxy S7 Edge in a silver color option. French tech watcher Nowhere Else also featured the smartphone in its gold variant.

On the heels of the images, Indian import website, Zauba published a detailed screenshot of the Galaxy S7 Edge’s components data, in particular pointing out how the handset will be water-resistant, a feature not carried by its predecessor, the Galaxy S6.

With news already making the rounds Samsung’s new smartphone will have a battery 36 percent larger than the S6, as seen in details leaked from an FCC filing, insiders are speculating the S7 Edge’s larger 5.5-inch screen justifies its 3,600mAh battery. A longer battery life is expected, as well.

The Galaxy S7 Edge has also been touted to be encased in a metal and glass body, and powered either by a Qualcomm Snadragon 820, or Samsung’s latest in-house Exynos chipset.

Backed by 4GB of RAM and at least 32GB of internal storage expandable via the purported return of a microSD slot, the phone will be fronted by a QHD AMOLED touchscreen, with a 12MP main camera at the rear.

The Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge is expected to launch together with the smaller-sized S7 during the eve of the MWC 2016 on February 21.
