Michael Cavallari's Death Ruled Accidental

The death of Kristin Cavallari's brother and NFL quarterback Jay Cutler's brother-in-law, Michael Cavallari, who was found dead weeks ago, was accidental, state medical examiner's office ruled on Tuesday.

In a report by The Salt Lake Tribune, the body of Michael was found in the Southern Utah desert where he died of hypothermia. The state medical examiner's office determined on Tuesday, February 9, that the death was accidental and no foul play was involved. The announcement came around two months after the California man abandoned his car in a Utah highway.

Michael was first reported to be missing. Days after massive searches, his body was found in the desert. It has been suspected before that Michael intentionally abandoned his car and did not want to be found as he did not take with him any gadget for supposed communication. His cellphone and laptop were retrieved inside the abandoned vehicle.

The car, which was discovered by a rancher on November 27, was still running and was stuck against a small embankment off a dirt road. The body was found on December 10 at the bottom of a steep hillside. Accordingly, the temperature in the area were at or below freezing point during evenings.

In a report by ABC 7, Grand County Sheriff Steven White said they are still waiting for the toxicology reports to find out whether or not the 30-year-old had any drugs in his system. The autopsy report they have announced will be one step of closing the case but it remains unclear what exactly happened to Michael and how did he get to where his body was found.

White pointed out, "I don't know if he thought he saw lights or something and started walking? We just don't know."

Chicago Tribune also reported that they believed Michael was just passing through Utah but they do not know where he was heading. Initial reports said that he was to visit his sister Kristin but representatives for the fashion designer dismissed those statements.

Michael is said to be a troubled person as he was arrested in California just four days before his car was found in Utah. He was arrested for allegedly acting threateningly towards a woman and that he had a gun on him. Michael was single and had no children.

The Cavallaris have been notified of the autopsy results but no comment from the family was released.
