Grey’s Anatomy Season 12 will finally address the status between torn couple, Jackson and April on its upcoming Feb. 25th installment.
Per the network’s official synopsis, the special hour will tackle the evolution of April and Jackson’s relationship through a series of flashbacks which date back to their first meeting.
Longtime followers of the Shonda Rhimes-drama will recall that the now married couple hailed from Mercy West – the hospital which eventually consolidated with Seattle Grace.
Through the flashback sequences, viewers will recognize a familiar face from the past seasons. According to Entertainment Weekly, actor Robert Baker will reprise his role as late Dr. Charles Percy, one of the doctors from Mercy West who died during the hospital shooting.
Simultaneously, viewers will also follow the years-long process of one of Dr. Avery’s patients. The yet-to-be named character will be played by Castle actress Maya Stojan.
April and Jackson’s relationship started to fall apart when they lost their baby in season 11, leading April to go into an emotional turmoil and leaving Jackson to work overseas.
When April returned, Jackson is no longer hopeful about his marriage and was determined to file for divorce. However, his wife won’t accept it.
To this end, it’s comforting that the medical juggernaut will finally give fans an answer to this overarching storyline.
In other Grey’s news, the series will bring Meredith Grey into another traumatic situation on its midseason return.
According to Spoilers Guid, the episode titled “Sound of Silence” will find Meredith facing a brutal attack from a patient. Interestingly, the one who discovers her is Penny – whom fans know is a person she doesn’t like very much.
During the aftermath, the doctors of Grey Sloan Memorial race against the clock to stabilize Meredith.
Grey’s Anatomy Season 12 resumes on Thursday, Feb. 11 on ABC.
