Producer Falsely Arrested by Police On the Set

With the heightened scare of terrorism looming around, it comes to no surprise why police officers could arrest those who are acting suspicious. But sometimes, these arrests come unwarranted and could even be made falsely. Just like what happened with a film producer who was arrested while working on a project with fashion designer Derek Lam.

As revealed at an Angelika launch event, Page Six reports that Andrea Roa was arrested by the police while she was collaborating with Lam on his new 10 Crosby fragrance line. Henry Joost, director of "Paranormal Activity 4" describes the incident saying that "Things happened through blood, sweat and tears, literally." This was when one of the producers of the product was falsely arrested by the police. Joost goes on to say that the NYPD decided to release Roa after five hours since she was arrested. According to the director, Roa was arrested when there was a mix-up with the location for a rooftop scene they were shooting. When the group was at the event to shoot, they initially thought that they were given the proper permission to do their work. But the NYPD disagreed with the group and that they were not given the necessary permission to shoot. Joost shares that the arrest was made "At gunpoint!"

The incident, however, was dismissed by Joost since he believes that the NYPD was being extra vigilant when they made the arrest. This was because the incident occurred just shortly after last year's terror attacks in Paris. For her part, Roa simply appeared in court and the mix-up was fixed. Hopefully, she will no longer have to face any charges considering she was falsely arrested by the officials. Next time, however, it would be wise to get proper permission so there won't be a mix-up with the police.
