‘Hearthstone: Heroes of Warcraft’ Update: Blizzard Announce Massive Changes; More Deck Slots Available

Blizzard Entertainment recently announced massive changes to the collectible card game Hearthstone: Heroes of Warcraft adding new formats and giving more deck slots.

According to Kotaku, Blizzard is renovating some essential features of Hearthstone. Hearthstone multiplayer games will now be separated into two modes - Standard and the Wild.

The standard mode allows players to use only the most recently out Hearthstone cards from pool of cards issued in the present and earlier calendar year as well as Basic and Classic cards set. The list includes the expansions Blackrock Mountain, The Grand Tournament, and League of Explorers.

Posted in the official blog site Battle.net, discussed the Wild format, where players lined for ranked or casual play with wild deck will be matched with other players using wild decks. The players can finish quests, earn gold, rank up on the ladder, get card backs, earn Legend rank, and use all the cards already collected to build a Wild deck.

Through the blog site, the Standard promises the following Hearthstone: Heroes of Warcraft experience:

  • Standard will help make for a more dynamic and balanced metagame.
  • A select set of cards makes each new card have more impact!
  • The developers will have more freedom to design exciting new cards.
  • It lets newer players jump in faster without having to collect as many cards.

Standard is only available as a format in Friendly Challenges, Ranked, and Casual play.

Aside from the new formats, The Guardian noted that the sweetener alongside the news is that the players are allow to store more than nine different decks in the game. The deck slots are raised to 18. With the two game formats, the number of decks players will be estimated to accumulate also doubles.
