Model Chloe Goins has dropped her lawsuit wherein she claimed comedian Bill Cosby drugged and sexually assaulted her. The incident allegedly took place back in 2008 at the Playboy Mansion.
In a report by 6ABC, the federal court records showed that Goins dismissed her lawsuit on Tuesday. There was no reasons disclosed though behind the dropping of the case which was filed last October.
Prosecutors in Los Angeles decided last December that they will not be filing criminal charges against Cosby over her claims as they said that some of it could not be verified.
Vulture reported that the model first went public with her claims back in December of 2014. She claimed that Cosby gave her a drink, which was spiked, while they were partying at the Playboy Mansion. She further claimed that the comedian removed her clothes and he pleasured himself while she was blacked out.
The claims of Goins were within the statute of limitations so the Los Angeles Police Department launched an investigation. However, prosecutors then declined to press charges as "evidence" reportedly existed that Cosby was not in California at the time the incident took place.
In a report by Radar Online, the Los Angeles County District Attorney's office received the surveillance video from the Playboy mansion Midsummer Night's Dream party, which Goins, 24, claim the encounter with Cosby took place. Apparently, there was no evidence that Cosby or Goins attended the aforementioned party. The guest lists also did not show the names of the two.
More on Cosby, he and his attorneys are seeking for Andrea Constand's charges to be dropped. Also, the same day that Goins dropped her lawsuit, a judge in Los Angeles ordered Cosby to undergo another deposition in the lawsuit filed by Judy Huth, who also claimed that she was assaulted by the comedian at the Playboy Mansion back in 1974.
The attorneys of Cosby and Goins are yet to comment on the latter's dropping of lawsuit.
