Most of the time, people tend to forget that celebrities are people too. Just like normal people, these celebrities have problems of their own as well. While some people may not be too vocal about their problems, there are some that have these problems publicized for them.
Just take the case of Amber Portwood, a reality TV star of Teen Mom OG. Despite being a reality TV star, her financial problems have been broadcasted for her to the public in lieu of a lawsuit. According to Radar Online, the 25-year-old is currently facing a lawsuit over a medical bill that has gone unpaid. Not to mention, the website has also been able to obtain copies of the documents from the Hamilton Superior Court. The documents show that the star has a current bill of $1,463.57 after she visited St. Vincent Fishers Hospital in Indiana. This amount excludes interest and court fees.
While the documents such how much money she owes the hospital, it is not known what the purpose of her visit was. Another information that was given was that the documents were filed on Dec. 29, 2015. On Jan. 20, 2016, a court decided to serve Portwood about the case at her old residence. This resulted the actress to not receiving any notification of the lawsuit. The next move the collection agency's attorney plans to make is to file an Alias Summons to the star's new address.
This isn't the first time Portwood was involved in financial trouble. In the past, she faced an eviction lawsuit but after she paid her rent, the case was dismissed. The star also got herself in trouble with the law when she served a 17-month sentence in prison for admitting to drug charges. At the time, she lost custody of her six-year-old daughter. After she was released, she starred on the TV show where she fought for her daughter's custody battle. Recently, she won the case and now shares joint custody of the child with her ex, Gary Shirley.
Apart from the TV show, Portwood is busy preparing for her upcoming wedding with 43-year-old Matt Baier. They are also currently working on expanding their house-flipping business.
