Kendrick Lamar, J Cole Album To Be Released on February 16?

By

Fans of highly acclaimed rappers, Kendrick Lamar and J Cole, are ecstatic about the pair's joint album to be released sometime soon. However, no official date for the mixtape's release has been set, until Lamar's sister announced it on social media.

While the planned collaborative mixtape between rappers, Kendrick Lamar and J Cole, is not exactly news to the hip hop community, its release date is still being questioned. However, Lamar's sister, through social media, released a post that could have given away the release date of the anticipated album.

Lamar's sister, Kayla Duckworth, released a Facebook status on the collaborative effort. Duckworth then reminded her followers about her participation in the song "To Pimp A Butterfly," where J. Cole was a guest collaborator.

"Go checkout my brother @kendricklamar gift to you guys its [sic[] definitely some [fire emoji] as usual! But go listen to it you won't regret it I promise! Collab drop #Feb16 so be on the look out as well and also if you hadn't noticed I did a very small part at the end, you have to start someone right," wrote Duckworth in her Facebook post, as reported by Vibe. The post came with a photo that shows Lamar and Cole's names, with Cole's name scratched out and the words "Black Friday" scribbled with a dollar sign.

In the song, cryptic messages were rhymed during Cole's verse, leading followers to think that Lamar's sister has officially revealed the mix tape release.

"When you and K. Dot sh*t dropping?/ Bitch never, they can't handle two black n*ggas this clever/ But this February, bet sh*t crazy when I f*ck around and drop..." rapped Cole in the song. Just after Cole's part ended, Duckworth said the album name, The Independent points out.

Even if Duckworth is Lamar's sister, there is still no clarification or official statement to make the dubbed release final. Duckworth has deleted the post, making it seem more unofficial than what it is.
