"Dangerous" Inmates Escape Texas Jail: Manhunt Underway in Sulphur Springs

The authorities in Texas have launched a massive manhunt, using helicopters and dogs in hopes of finding two inmates, who escaped from jail Tuesday morning, ABC News reported. Brian Allen Tucker and John Martin King, who escaped from Hopkins County Jail in Sulphur Springs, Texas, at around 8:30 a.m.

"Both are considered dangerous," Hopkins County Sheriff's Office Deputy Alvin Jordan told ABC News.

"They were put out on rec yard to have outside rec and undoubtedly squeezed through the gate and took off. We did find their black and whites about 100 yards behind the facility," Jordan said. Their crimes were so horrendous that they were both separated from other inmates, because of the crimes they committed, landing them in jail, on multiple occassions.

"If they're spotted, make sure they lock their doors, call 911 and tell us what area they're in," Jordan said. "Don't try to let them approach you."

Tucker was being held on $1 million bond in the 2011 death of Bobby Riley of Mahoney. Riley was found strangled in his home and some music instruments and firearms had been stolen. Jury selection in his murder trial was set to begin June 3.

Tucker was previously convicted of burglary and driving while intoxicated. He has been arrested numerous times for violating parole, the Associated Press reported.

King was being held on several charges, including evading arrest, burglary and possession of a controlled substance. He was also cin the past of burglary and possession of a controlled substance. According to court documents, he pleaded guilty last month to the possession charge as a habitual offender and received a sentence of 40 years in prison, the AP also reported.
