This Woman Lost 26 Pounds and Earned $12.5 Million for Tweeting About it

We've all struggled with weight gain so much so that we've signed up for expensive weight loss programs and gym memberships. For this woman, however, she was able to lose weight and earn up to $12.5 million just by sending out a tweet about her weight loss success.

No doubt about it, the only woman capable of doing this is no other than the highly successful talk show host, Oprah Winfrey. On Tuesday afternoon, Winfrey posted a video on her Twitter account where she documented how she lost 26 pounds. In the video, Winfrey explains that she only ate bread every single day while she was on a diet program prepared by Weight Watchers. Within an hour after that video was posted, shares of the diet company skyrocketed over 20%. It now has closed at $13.29 a share.

Winfrey announced that she was collaborating with Weight Watchers on a business deal last October 19, 2015. She owns around 10% of stock or 6.4 million shares from the company. With the tweet she sent out last Tuesday, she was able to prove just how influential she is on social media. Her tweet not only increased the company's stock by 16%, she also earned around $12.5 million!

But going back to her weight loss success, Winfrey shares that the reason why she loves the program prepared by Weight Watchers for her was because she was able to enjoy the food she loves to eat on a daily basis yet still lose weight. The 61-year-old host shared that she loves to eat bread and was happy that she could eat it everyday. The diet program did not teach her that she should deny herself of eating bread. Instead, it taught her how to manage eating bread. Ever since she started with the program, Winfrey shares that she has already lost 26 pounds.

Apart from Winfrey, Weight Watchers has helped a number of people lose weight. One of the most popular success stories is singer Jennifer Hudson who lost 80 pounds. She went from a size 16 to a size 6 when she was under the program.
