The former live-in trainer for the son of television personality "Judge Judy" Scheindlin has been accused of raping a 12-year-old girl, and bragging about his connections to the family, the Daily Mail reported.
Alexandru Hossue, a Romanian, is also an illegal immigrant (or undocumented worker) after outstaying his visa, despite working for one of New York's top lawyers, Adam Levy.
Levy has come under fire for employing Hossu annd giving him accommodation at his million-dollar house in Putnam, New York, news reports have said.. Hossu was charged last week with two counts of first degree rape after a 15-year-old told a school counselor she had been sexually abused by him when she was 12. The News Journal spoke to a relative of the girl who said 'everybody knew' that Hossu was an illegal immigrant, and that he told everybody he was working for the rich district attorney.
Apparently Levy has not been cooperative in the investigation, Putnam County Sheriff Donald B. Smith has said, accusing the district attorney of using his position to mislead the public.
"He is apparently trying to influence and affect the investigation, which could be perceived as an ethical violation of his official duties and perhaps even as an attempt to undermine it," Sheriff Smith said.
Levy, fired back, accusing the sheriff of making "unfounded allegations and misstatements... My office acted properly in every aspect of the investigation," he said, and reported by The Daily Mail.
Hossu is being held in Putnam County jail in Carmel on $50,000 cash or $100,000 bond, and he is due in court on April 2.
The charges is a public embarrassment for Levy's family, including his television personality mother, Judge Judy Sheindlin who earlier this month was sued, accused of swindling Patric Jones out of her Christofle china and flatware through a conspiracy with her divorcing husband. Sheindlin allegedly purchased the valuables from Douthit while knowing his divorcing wife had equal ownership over it, reports said.
In 1982 Mayor Ed Koch appointed her as a judge, first in criminal court, then in 1986, as Manhattan's supervising family court judge. It was reported in the summer of 2012 that Sheindlin was the highest paid television personality, making $123,000 per day,
