During an impassioned speech to the House of Representatives on Thursday, Minnesota Representative Michele Bachmann, spoke against the healthcare law signed into law in 2010, the Huffington Post reported. Derisively known as 'Obamacare' the Minnesota representative implored her fellow lawmakers to "repeal this failure before it literally kills women, kills children, kills senior citizens." Bachmann is trying to rally support against the measure, something House Republicans have failed to accomplish in nearly 40 prior attempts.
Bachman insisted that Americans "pay more and get less" under the plan.
"Let's love people, let's care about people, let's repeal it now while we can," she added.
In the past, former Alaskan Governor Sarah Palin also made headlines for inflammatory rhetoric, coining the term "death panels" to describe the bureaucracy that she worried would ration care.
