The Chronicles of Narnia: The Silver Chair is in the works, and is expected move ahead into production but it will not be a continuation of the previous films as producer Mark Gordon confirmed that the next film will be a reboot.
As reported by /FIlm, Gordon confirmed that Skander Keynes, William Moseley, Anna Popplewell andGeorgie Henley who were introduced in the previous Narnia films will no longer return in T he Silver Chair. Gordon said that it will feature all original cast and characters.
"No, it's all going to be a brand new franchise. All original. All original characters, different directors, and an entire new team that this is coming from.", Gordon said.
However, it is worth noting that the mention of "original characters" does not mean characters made from scratch. The characters in the film will be those from the original book but have not appeared in the previous movies yet.
According to We Got This Covered, it was previously confirmed that writer David Magee has turned in the first draft for The Chronicles of Narnia: The Silver Chair, and while the exact timeframe of production was not confirmed, Gordon said that they are looking forward to move ahead with the film.
"We're hoping to be able to make the movie very shortly. We're very excited about it.", Gordon said. As reported by Cross Walk, The Silver Chair will take place several decades after the events in The Voyage of the Dawn Treader in Narnia, but will be less than a year in England.
The next story will feature an older King Caspian who will seek for Aslan's help as his son and sole heir to his throne mysteriously disappear. Aslan in turn will ask for the Pevensies' cousing, Eustace Scrubb and his friend Jill Pole as they travel through unfamiliar lands only to eventually uncover a sinister enemy.
The cast and official release date for The Chronicles of Narnia: The Silver is yet to be announced, but more about this story will be reported as soon as additional details are out.
