Former Miss Delware Teen USA Due to Appear in Court Next Month

Former Miss Delaware Teen USA is due in Maryland court next month on theft charges, the Associated Press reported.

Melissa King resigned from the beauty pageant title after her porn video was released online. It is reported that the porn website paid her $1,500.

King was arrested when Ocean City, Md., police found her taking money from a municipal bus's cash box last year, reported Delaware Online. It was further reported that King didn't appear in court to answer the charge.

The police then asked a District Court judge to issue a warrant for her arrest last August. The judge responded to it, and bond was set at $1,000. But an Ocean City police spokesman said the charge wasn't serious enough to allow extradition from Delaware.

In the next month's hearing the 18-year-old will also be asked to answer a charge of alcohol possession for under 21 people.

"I would think that having sex with a stranger for money and on camera belongs on the short list of risky behaviors that one can't legally engage in before age 21," Charles Lane of The Washington Post wrote.

E!Online reported King's bio read, "One day, she hopes to work for a prestigious fashion magazine in New York City or maybe on the sidelines of an NFL game as a sports journalist. She likes the sound of both!"
