A teenaged student was arrested in Crystal Lake, Illinois, for fixing a pin-hole camera and illegally videotaping the boys' locker room at the Central High School in far northwest suburb.

Seventeen-year-old Luke Patrick Gildea, a student of Central High School located at 45 W. Franklin St, was charged with two counts of unauthorized video recording with one being a Class 4 felony and the other being a Class 3 felony involving anyone below 18 years of age, read Crystal Lake Police Department's press release.

The Chicago Tribune reported that District 155 officials informed the police about the camera, a stand-alone device without the capability of streaming video to a wireless system.

Gildea will be taken to McHenry County Jail in Woodstock and will be produced at the McHenry County Courthouse for his bond hearing at 8 a.m. Friday.

According to Patch.com, District 155 Superintendent Johnnie Thomas issued an automated email to parents explaining about the incident. Police is expected to use a forensic examiner to review digital images.

"The department continues to work closely with School District 155 investigating this incident," Crystal Lake Police Commander Dan Dziewior said. "Additional charges may be forthcoming."

Crystal Lake Police Department encouraged people with additional information about the incident to contact them at 815-356-3620.
