The rape of a 7-year-old girl at a government school in Indian capital New Delhi sparked protests, according to local media.
Around 400 people gathered outside Sanjay Gandhi Hospital in northeast Delhi, where the girl had been taken for treatment. Buses were attacked and stones were pelted on the police, reported BBC.
According to the latest reports the security guard and a staff of the school has been detained and are being questioned.
Dr. Sanjay Kumar, who treated the girl, informed the media that the girl had injuries consistent with rape.
The BBC also reported that the protestors came as India's parliament held heated debate and murder of three sisters in Maharashtra state.
Last year a 23-year-old medical student was brutally gang raped in a moving bus, in Delhi. The incident captured nationwide attention and resulted in strong protest by the people demanding stricter laws for crime against women. Six men and a 17-year-old have been charged with her murder.
