A Colorado man was arrested Friday by Denver police for allegedly threatening a Democratic state lawmaker Rhonda Fields, reported Associated Press.
The man identified as Franklin Sain told police that he was voicing "some frustrations" about Fields' efforts to tighten the gun laws, reported The Denver Post.
Fields represents the district where 12 people were killed in shootings at an Aurora movie theater, and she's a lead sponsor of bills to expand background checks for firearm purchases and to limit the size of ammunition magazines, reported the AP.
He confessed to police about mailing Fields with racial and sexual epithets also sending her voicemails threatening her. Police authorities said that Sain sent letters that read, "I keep my 30 Round Magazines There Will Be Blood! I'm coming for you!"
He was set free on a bond of $30,000. Sheriff's Capt. Frank Gale said that Sain will appear in Denver County court on March 8.
Fields is been provided extra security by the Colorado State Patrol, said Trooper Nate Reid, a patrol spokesman to The Post.
