Late Mexican-American singer Jenni Rivera's eldest son, Michael Rivera, was taken into custody by Miami Beach Police Thursday for criminal mischief, reported TMZ.
The police responded to a call complaining about a stranger loitering in the area. Then they arrested the 22-year old.
NBC Miami, citing an arrest statement, reported that Michael was spotted tagging a sign with a marker and placing a sticker on another sign.
Michael caused damage estimated to be between $200 and $1,000 to public property. He was later set free on $1,000 bond.
This is not the first time the late singer's son has been arrested. Michael was arrested and charged with molesting a minor, reported American Live Wire. He was then released on a $50, 000 bond.
TMZ reported that the late singer's family was in Miami to receive the five awards she won posthumously, at the Premio Lo Nuestra Awards. The late singer will also be honored in a special tribute.
The 43-year-old Jenni Rivera died in plane crash on December 19, 2012.
