It seems like the tables have turned! Tori Spelling is currently facing money troubles. News sources today have revealed that American Express is suing the 42-year-old actress for failing to pay her credit card. Based on legal documents, the mom-of-four is said to have an outstanding balance of $37,981.97 on her AMEX card. The actress did try to pay off her debt in June last year by sending a check for $1,070. Unfortunately, the payment for the card bounced.
Because Spelling's payment had bounced and it's been a while since the actress tried to make another payment, the bank has decided to pursue legal action. For her neglect, American Express is demanding that the actress make the full payment of the remaining balance, along with the interest.
Just last year, Spelling filed a lawsuit against the Benihana restaurant chain when she allegedly slipped and burned herself on her visit to one of their branches located in Encino, California. When she fell, Spelling claimed that she fell on the hibachi grills of the restaurant, where she sustained "deep second and third degree burn injuries." Spelling claimed that her fall led her to be hospitalized. The Beverly Hills, 90210 actress sued the restaurant for the incident that happened in September for settling her medical bills along with "general damage." The actress claims that the incident had caused her to suffer a massive loss of earnings.
In an episode of her reality TV show "True Tori," Spelling revealed that she felt "so responsible" for taking care of a lot of people financially and that it scares her. The episode aired in October 2014 and spoke about Spelling's issue with her financial problems after the death of her producer father, Aaron Spelling. When he died, Tori was left with only $800,000 as her mother took away millions of dollars. This led the actress to struggle in making a living as she tried her luck on TV movies and reality shows.
Apart from her, Spelling's husband has been trying his best to make enough money that can help support their lifestyle. The couple are struggling hard, especially since they have four children to support.
But now that both of her TV shows, "True Tori" and "Mystery Girls," are over, it may be a bit difficult for Spelling to pay off her debt. This was also the last time the public has seen Spelling on TV. Spelling has not commented on the new legal drama she is facing.
