An extensive package of gun-control measures, proposed by Colorado Democrats, cleared the Colorado House Monday, making its way to the Democratic-controlled Senate.

Dean Toda, a House Democrats spokesman informed that all the four bills were approved by a final, recorded vote.

"The vote was along party lines, with no Republican supporting the bills," Toda said.

The Democratic-led House approved a ban on large-capacity magazines, placing a limit of 15 rounds for firearms, and eight for shotguns. Three Democrats joined all Republicans in voting no on the bill, but the proposal passed 34-31, reported San Francisco Chronicle.

"Enough is enough. I'm sick and tired of bloodshed," said Democratic Rep. Rhonda Fields, a sponsor of the bill. She her son to gun violence and her district includes the Aurora movie theater where 12 were killed in a shooting last July, reported Reuters. It further reported that Governor John Hickenlooper, a Democrat, said he supported the magazine limits and universal background check measures but was unsure on the college campus ban.

The bill stresses on the new requirements for mental health professionals to inform the authorities about patients who may pose a risk and to hold manufacturers and sellers accountable for the harm caused by assault-style guns, which excluded handguns, bolt-action rifles and shotguns.
