An Australian woman was sexually assaulted in Manhattan early Sunday morning, and police continue their hunt for her attacker, The Daily News reports.
The 20-year-old tourist, who had just gotten out of a cab and was reportedly intoxicated got into an argument with the driver. She was then dragged from behind into an alleyway near Madison Avenue and East 58th Street.
Police said the man then raped her, according to the New York Post. According to reports, the woman had just left the Lavo nightclub and had gotten into a cab. The suspect rapist is described by authorities as a black male, 35-40 years old, approximately 6-foot-2 and weighing 190 pounds.
He was also reportedly wearing dark clothing at the time of the assault.The NYPD also released a sketch of the suspect on Tuesday.
Police told Foxnews.com that alcohol does not appear to have been a factor. The rape occurred shortly after exiting her cab following a visit to the trendy Lavo nightclub in Midtown Manhattan.
Cops continue to investigate the case, and her name has yet to be released.
