Legal Fight Between Rapper Drake and ‘Marvin's Room’ Girl Settled

By

Legal dispute between rapper Drake and Ericka Lee, a vocalist who appeared on "Marvin' Room," has been settled TMZ reported.

Last year Erica sued Drake over song writing credits. She claimed that the she co-wrote a song in "Marvin's Room" but was not given any credit.

According to the reports by SPIN, Lee argued that she and Drake previously had an affair and the rapper texted her appreciating her contribution to "Marvin's Room."

The text messages read, "U basically made that song," and "It's shit without you." SPIN reported that according to the claims made by Lee Drake offered her 4 to 5 percent of publishing royalties and $50,000 extra. Drake denied of romantically involved with Lee.

Last year Drake issued a statement replying to Lee's allegations.

"This claim is entirely without merit and our client has not engaged in any wrongful conduct. Ericka Lee consented to the use of her voice in the song 'Marvin's Room' prior to its release," the statement read. "Lee asked only for the credit she received as 'Syren Lyric Muse,' and she did not ask for any compensation. It was only after she retained a lawyer that there was a demand for payment. Drake tried for months to resolve the matter amicably, and he now looks forward to being vindicated in court."

The lawsuit was settled on Feb. 2, but the amount paid to Lee wasn't disclosed.
