‘Ghostbusters’ Reboot Supplies the Lack of Female Centric Heroes in Films

By

The new "Ghostbusters movie will have female protagonists in them. It will have Kristen Wiig, Kate McKinnon, Leslie Jones, and Melissa McCarthy as the ghost busting team.

Since there is lack of female superhero movies or just female role model in action movies, director Paul Fieg is there to fill it up. He is directing the reboot of the famous movie "Ghostbusters". It is a supernatural comedy film about four women fighting with ghosts. Comic Book Resource said Fieg is supplying the fans with many action figures of the four female leads with different types and sizes.

The plot of the movie is about Erin Gilbert (Kristen Wiig) and Abby Yates (Melissa McCarthy) who wrote a book about ghosts. After a few years, Gilbert got a job at Columbia University, and her book resurfaces. Gilbert then reunites with Yates and others when ghosts attack Manhattan and she and her team have to save the world.

Inverse stated that the marketing of the film is a little lacklustre. Though the film is taking a fresh and new take of the old one, it is still reusing a lot of the old things it popularized. They believed that the movie has an identity crisis basing on everything it has released. The fans still has no idea as to what it will be really about. There are still a few months away and the audience will likely be more enlightened when the trailer is released.

Earlier this week, sad news filled the internet. CNN reported that David Margulies died on Monday at 78 years of age. Margulies is in the "Ghostbusters" original movie and the sequel as well. He played the mayor of New York in both films, in 1984 and 1989. According to his biography at the Milken Archive of Jewish Music, the Brooklyn native graduated from City College of New York and made his off-Broadway debut in 1958 in "Golden 6".

Are the fans excited to see the new take on the classic movie "Ghostbusters"? Be sure to prepare because the movie is going to be filled with laughter and fun as the four women will make it so. Movie will be on theaters on July 21, 2016.
