Alan Blacker, who is known as the Harry Potter Lawyer, launches legal action against regulators over allegations that he lied about his legal credentials and qualifications. The lawyer, who also calls himself Lord Harley, was criticized for dressing like a character out of Harry Potter.

According to Telegraph, Crown Court judge admonished Alan Blacker for appearing in court with ceremonials ribbons on his barrister's gown and wearing medals. The long-haired Mr. Blacker was said to bear a resemblance or similarity to the character of the famous book, Harry Potter.

The long-haired lawyer who looked like Hagrid was accused of making false claims about his achievements and titles. The Telegraph reported that these inaccurate claims were misleading the court recklessly. In November, the Solicitors Regulatory Authority or SRA told Alan Blacker that he is to face a disciplinary hearing.

Alan Blacker retaliated by issuing legal actions against the Solicitors Disciplinary Tribunal. The SDT is an independent panel which hears cases brought by the Solicitors Regulatory Authority. The Harry Potter Lawyer said that if this is the way the regulatory branch of his profession behaves, then people cannot expect any kind of justice at all.

"I have prepared a full defense to the baseless allegations against me but if I am denied the right of appearing because the tribunal is so caught up in its self-importance how can the public hear the truth?" Alan Blacker said.

Mr. Blacker indicated that he would be unable to attend the hearing, which was set in London, because of disability and that he had issued a pre-action documents amid a failure to hear the case in Manchester.

According In 2014, Alan Blacker appeared at Cardiff Crown Court in the case of a minibus driver jailed for 5 years after being found guilty of causing the death of a cyclist by dangerous driving. Wales Online reported that the presiding judge, Judge David Wynn Morgan confronted Mr. Blacker that if he wants to look like something out of Harry Potter, he can forget to come to the court forever. And that if he continues to dress as who he is, then the judge will not hear him.

The lawyer's full name is Dr. The Right Honourable Lord Harley of Counsel of the Most Venerable Order of the Hospital of Saint John of Jerusalem. Alan Blacker said that he was seeking a High Court order to overturn the decision which he dubbed as discriminatory. Alan Blacker is also seeking damages and costs.
