As Tekken 7: Fated Retribution has cordially introduced itself to the mass, gamers are already excited over what could come forth and how the franchise will fare. The source of the stirring controversy not only lies within the title itself, but also around the character that was formally included in the mix.
According to Realty Today, all-time Tekken fans were treated with the latest expansion in the franchise, that being Tekken 7 which was launched in the arcades roughly almost a year now. As much as fans have been waiting for news on the upcoming console versions which is expected early this year, the bigger talk of the town is the latest addition to the Tekken roster-and one that many may have not expected.
Reported by Game Spot, the gaming world was recently stunned as Bandai Namco released news and formally announced that Street Fighter's Akuma will be joining the Tekken 7 roster in its latest expansion named Tekken 7: Fated Retribution. This particular move stirred up a lot of mixed reactions from the fans, not just for Tekken franchise, but also for the Capcom fans that tail the Street Fighter series.
Forbes noted that the said crossover is not plainly for marketing purposes, as per Katsuhiro Harada, the creator of the Tekken saga. Akuma will be playing a vital role to the series--and as recent trailers showed,
Akuma will be linked to growing Mishima storyline; to the point of being in cahoots with the confirmed wife of Heihachi Mishima known as Kazumi Mishima. As for how they came to be allegedly connected, no information was divulged yet from the trailer, but many speculations lead to the theory of Akuma having owed something from Kazumi.
Tekken 7: Fated Retribution still does not have a fixed release date as of the moment, and Bandai Namco may still have other plans at hand, especially as Tekken X Street Fighter is expected to surface sometime soon. Keep posted for more updates on the said expansion and possible additions.
