HTC Desire 816 Might Get Android 6.0 Marshmallow Update with Sense 7.0 this Month

HTC Desire 816 smartphones were confirmed by the manufacturer's official list of Android 6.0 Marshmallow expected time of arrival in the first quarter of 2016. Marshmallow is expected to come to the device a soon as January with Sense 7.0 user interface.

Android 6.0 Marshmallow is now in the certification stage for HTC Desire 816 devices and is slated to be tested in the coming weeks. The official list of HTC revealed that the device is indeed one of the lucky smartphones and tablets.

The certification stage is where HTC will incorporate its very own Sense user interface with Android 6.0 Marshmallow software. Most Desire 816 units are currently running on the Android 5.0 and 5.1 Lollipop depending on the carrier and region. It comes with improvements for the Sense 6.0 user interface.

The device is expected to skip the final Lollipop versions to keep up with the intensifying competition in the market wherein mid-range devices of other brands have been receiving first the upgrade before the flagship phones.

Android 6.0 Marshmallow will come in with a whole lot of improvements in apps and software configurations, plus new and fresh features straight from Google dev. These include the battery saver named Doze, smarter Google Now with more accurate suggestions and recommendations, apps permissions, direct share, additional mobile payment systems like Google Pay, Visa, Discovery and Master Card, and supports for Android Pay and fingerprint scanner, among many others.

HTC Desire 816 is a mid-range phone rocking a 5.5-inch screen with a 720p resolution. Its build is made of plastic material on the front and sides, and a shiny fingerprint magnet rear the panel.

It has loud BoomSound speakers on the front panel making the device convertible into a portable video player and gaming device. It runs on a quad-core Snapdragon 400 processor, a 1.5 GB of RAM, and a 2,600 mAh battery. Desire 816 costs US 300 dollars only.
