Seattle Seahawks cornerback, Richard Sherman won an appeals case against a four-game suspension due to alleged use of performance enhancing drugs on Thursday. The arbitrator's decision allows Sherman to play in the final NFL regular season game and the playoffs.
Sherman appealed the decision last week. He won the appeal on account of his claims that his sample was subjected to a chain of custody errors.
"The league's argument was they are allowed to make mistakes, and they're allowed to break the rules, and they can get away with it,It's up to them. The appeal officer is paid by the league, so if he goes their way, that's what it is. It's not an even playing field in the appeal room," Sherman said before the arbitrator in St Louis before the decision, as reported by USA Today.
The 30-year-old took to his Twitter page to announce the court's decision.
He first tweeted, "I won" on @RSherman_25 and then later tweeted, "Thank you @nfl for upholding the truth! To the 12s Thank you your faith is rewarded! Thank you lord."
"We are reviewing the decision, but decline comment at this time due to the confidentiality provision of the program," NFL spokesman Greg Aiello told USA Today.
Seahawks quarterback Russell Wilson told reporters the team was thrilled with the news.
"It helps a lot...Richard a tremendous football player...We're looking forward to having him back," he said, according to Komo News.
Sherman's suspension will end this Sunday, which will allow him to play in the playoffs against St. Louis Rams
