The popular movie on demand rental service released a statement on its social media page apologizing to its customers for problems with its video streaming.
Many people across the nation experienced problems with its streaming on Christmas Eve, some have even reported problems before Dec 24. Now, problems with the program continue as Netflix released a statement indicating that it is working on the problem.
On its Twitter account @ Netflix, it tweeted "We're sorry for the Christmas Eve outage. Terrible timing! Engineers are working on it now. Stay tuned to @Netflixhelps for updates."
Frustrated customers tweeted back to Netflix. Benjamin Kerensa tweeted, "maybe I should just get cable... at least then I get reliable service or a credit," @bkerensa.
Another DeWayne Hamby tweeted, "@netflix @netflixhelps I'm sure you can figure out how to make it up to all of us," on his Twitter page @Dewaynehamby.
Other Netflix users have been more sympathetic to the company's problems. Michael Fitzgerald tweeted in reponse to Kerensa's "cable" comment, "@bkerensa @netflix @Netflixhelps cable wont give credit for a day of outages," on @PghMikeFtz.
The problem was caused by "some of Amazon's cloud infrastructure," according to representatives of Netflix. The company representative says that they are working with Amazon engineers to fix the problem.
The problem still continues on Christmas day, the company has refused to comment on the matter to the Associated Press.
