Microsoft is rolling out Windows 10 Mobile in the first month of 2016. Published reports stated that a lot more Windows smartphones shall receive the new version. Alongside with the update is the debut of its new flagship, Nokia Lumia 850.
WCCF Tech secondly reported that various Lumia models shall receive Windows 10 Mobile. These include Microsoft Lumia 950, 535, 640 XL LTE, and 640 LTE and Nokia Lumia 930, 635, and 830. According to the report, the new software update will start to roll out on January 12 through an over-the-air message. GSM Arena reported that the initial batch shall receive the update which includes Lumia 630, 635, 640, 735, and 830.
On the other hand, IB Times noted that Microsoft plans to release the new software version together with its new flagship. At the moment the new device has a codename of Honjo. This is expected to debut as a successor of Nokia Lumia 230 that was released in September 2014.
According to the related report, the new device shall come with 5.7 inches display with thickness of 6.9mm. It will also support full HD resolution of 1920 x 1080 pixels. The new Nokia Lumia will be powered by Snapdragon 617 chipset.
However, there is no information yet on the amount of its RAM, related report said. Some features also have been noted through the leaked photos which suggest a camera that enhances the features of its successor. In addition, the new device shall feature a frontal flash for its selfie-shooter. The flash like feature on the front bezel also shows an iris scanner for the Windows Hello feature.
Meanwhile, Microsoft did not release an official statement yet regarding the features of the Windows 10 Mobile including its new flagship. The company did not also confirm the report on its release date. Though, this is something that subscribers and enthusiasts can look forward to in the near future.
