Android 6.0 Marshmallow had been under evaluation for some HTC devices for a couple of months and a Vietnamese website just revealed that Desire Eye smartphones are expected to get the software upgrade this year.
HTC Desire EYE will finally be receiving the official over-the-air (OTA) release of Android 6.0 Marshmallow software. According to HTC's expected time of release (ETA) list, the upgrade will come to Desire Eye by the first quarter of the year with the Sense 7.0 user interface along with Android original set of features.
Android 6.0 Marshmallow was under evaluation for official rollout to HTC Desire EYE to assess the capacity of the device to carry the biggest software in Android history. Android 6.0 is also rolling out to other devices like One M9, One M9+, One M8 GPE, One M8 EYE, One M8s, One ME, One E9, One E9+, One E8, Desire 826, Desire 820, Desire 816 and Desire 816G. Unlocked versions of One M8 had just been updated with Marshmallow mid December 2015.
As of the moment, Desire Eye runs on Android 5.0.1 Lollipop and might not be getting the Android 5.1 anymore to proceed to Android 6.0 or possibly Android 6.0.1. Since the update had been rolled out already to One M8 smartphones, You Mobile posted on its site that the device is in the certification stage.
Android 6.0 Marshmallow update will come in with a more intuitive Google Now, battery saver Doze, cut, copy, and paste options, app backup and restore, improved apps permissions, and several others.
Google Now recommends information about nearby restaurants, reviews, map locations, upcoming events and more based on what is on the screen of the phone or the recent searches.
Doze terminates background processes and idle apps. It also wheels apps and features consuming too much power using hardware sensors and software modifications. Meanwhile, apps permissions give options to allow or deny any action to launch an app, etc.
