Growing concerns in the United States regarding terrorism has led President Barack Obama to set tighter rules about firearm restrictions. Executive actions by the U.S. President will be pushing through for more necessary gun control measures as early as next week after he returns from Washington, D.C.
Washington Post shared that U.S. President Barack Obama is set to meet Attorney General Loretta E. Lynch on January 11, 2016, Monday. This is to discuss and finalize the newest gun control measures by which the motions will be disclosed after.
One of President Barack Obama's primary proposals is the strict implementation of gun businesses. According to the site, a license for buyers and background check for dealers have been suggested for the safety and security of the majority.
Also, the said motion will be aligned with the existing United States Constitution's Second Amendment that states the protection of the individual's rights to carry firearms. This may be a good measure but it does also concludes some political strife and legal challenges as U.S. President Barack Obama bypassed the Congress, Reuters reported.
All of these necessary amendments and actions to be taken will push through this new year to smoothen everything before the 2016 Presidential election takes place. Included in the proposal are strict rules for reporting lost and stolen guns, Politico cited.
In addition, the Congress might have a little challenge about the said proposal as it is unlikely they approve new gun curbs before the said 2016 Presidential election.
President Barack Obama is proposing these new gun measures to slightly overhaul and increase the security and protection of everyone as threat of terrorism has been rampant lately. Though these measures might be challenging in the legal basis, the US President's team is confident that it is still aligned with the US Constitution's Second Amendment of giving a person the right to bear firearms.
