Natalie Cole, a much-loved singer, passed away on Thursday evening. The Grammy-winning singer was most famous for her songs such as "Our Love" and "This Will Be." Not only that, she was the daughter of the jazz legend, Nat King Cole.

Natalie died from congestive heart failure at the age of 65. She was admitted at the Cedars-Sinai Hospital in Los Angeles at the time of her death for ongoing heart issues, which was confirmed by her publicist, Maureen O'Connor. In 2009, Natalie underwent a kidney transplant after she had contracted hepatitis C. The singer blamed her past intravenous drug abuse as the culprit on how she contracted the disease. This time of her life was documented on her autobiography entitled 'Angel on My Shoulder.'

Before her untimely death, Natalie was scheduled to go on tour. But because of her poor health and the complications that came with her kidney transplant, the singer had no choice but to cancel a number of her tour dates.

Natalie was able to sell 14 million copies of her 1991 album entitled "Unforgettable", which republished some of her late father's hits. She was also able to win 6 out of 9 Grammy award nominations. Apart from singing, Natalie had appeared on a few TV shows such as "Grey's Anatomy" and "Touched by an Angel." She also appeared on "Real Housewives" and has been a judge on "RuPaul's Drag Race."

Her children, Robert Yancy, Timolin, and Casey Cole have addressed the media and had nothing but kind words to say about their mother. According to them, Natalie had fought a 'fierce, courageous battle' and that she had died 'with dignity, strength and honor.' Natalie was married three times. In 2004, she divorced Kenneth Dupree, her third husband.

Indeed, the music industry will be mourning for the loss of one of the most celebrated and iconic women in the world. Natalie Cole was and will forever be a highly cherished artist.
