Chris Brown allegedly assaulted Brazilian model in Las Vegas; Police investigation still underway

Chris Brown is yet again in the middle of a controversial story. The R&B artist has been accused of allegedly assaulting a woman during an after party inside a Las Vegas suite.

E! Online reported that Brown is currently under investigation for possible misdemeanor battery and theft following a claim made by a woman accusing Brown of attacking her. The police did not arrest Brown for the alleged crimes.

Though it remains unclear whether the charges are true, a rep from Brown’s team said that the woman’s accusations are “completely false”. The woman, until now, has not yet commented on public.

Police told reporters that they received the battery report on Saturday, later finding out that the alleged crime occurred inside the Palms Casino Resort.

When they arrived at the scene, they met a woman who looked like she sustained minor injuries from a battery. Their early investigation determined that the woman had an altercation with Brown when she “went to take a picture” of the singer.

"The victim was alleged to have been battered by Brown, who at the same time took her cell phone,” a statement from the police reads.

"A crime report has been taken for misdemeanor theft and misdemeanor battery listing Mr. Brown as a suspect”. The detectives handling the case, according to the documents, are unable to contact the singer.

The woman has been identified as Liziane Gutierrez, a Brazilian model known for being a copycat of Kim Kardashian.

Brown responded to the charges the following day, sharing that he plans to keep his “circle small in 2016”.

On his Instagram account, he wrote: “I'm done taking the care of grown ass men. And I'm going to be hella rich after all the lawsuits I file from these crazy individuals who keep lying on my name. Happy NEW YEAR! Time for some of us to grow the fuck up!”

In 2009, Brown pleaded guilty to felony assault when he physically assaulted Rihanna before the Grammys. According to Daily Mail, his then girlfriend suffered from serious injuries, “leaving her face and body battered and blue”.

It's yet to be determined whether Rihanna will give a comment on this legal battle for her ex-boyfriend.
