‘Grand Theft Auto V’ updates & rumors: New leak points to possible story DLC for game’s single-player mode

New rumors suggest that publisher Rockstar Games may be planning on releasing a new content update for "Grand Theft Auto V." According to sources, the possible DLC could be launched for the single-player campaign of the mode.

As noted by Geek.com, news about the development of a new content update for the game was uncovered by a NeoGaf user ODDI while looking for cheats for GTA V. The user reportedly came across a file made by data miner LondonTown2004.

Based on the file, the developers of the game seem to be working on a new framework for an unreleased DLC. The data miner, however, did not reveal the possible contents of the update but the leak suggests that it will be exclusively available for single-player mode.

If Rockstar Games does proceed with a single-player DLC, then it will most likely be story-driven. Also, it will go against what the studio had said a couple of months ago regarding the status of content updates for the latest entry in the "Grand Theft Auto" franchise.

As pointed out by Express, Imran Sarwar, the director of design for development firm Rockstar North, had already made it clear that the company will no longer support the last-gen versions of GTA V. This means the developers will only focus their time and efforts on creating DLCs for the PC, Xbox One and PlayStation 4 iterations of the game as well as its multiplayer mode dubbed as "GTA Online."

According to the executive, this decision was made due to the technical limitations of the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360. But, if the company decides to create a single-player-only DLC, then it will probably not be as technically-demanding as its online and next-gen counterparts.

Unfortunately, despite the leaks, all of these details about a future DLC are only based on speculations and rumors for now. Hopefully, Rockstar Games or Rockstar North will issue a statement within the next few days to clarify the status of a possible single-player content update.
