Ever since it's much awaited launch in September, experts have been trying to come up with a jailbreak for the iPhone 5 on its new iOS6 processor. While most of the well-known names still continue to work on figuring it out, Arab Dev Team, an unknown team, claim to work the jailbreak for the iPhone 4S on the iOS6.
But according to Product Reviews, they have not provided any links so that iphone users can download it. In other words, insinuating that these claims might be false.
Alan Ng from pr.net says, "If there is any truth to the software, then it could mean that we're one step closer to an iPhone 5 jailbreak - assuming that their theory about the jailbreak working on A6 devices is correct. For now though, they need to release the links if they are going to prove the doubters wrong. So many times we see claims being made, but nothing is ever released which is just further eye candy for the community."
According to an interview earlier this month with Cult of Mac, one of the prominent hackers @planetbeing noted, "Can't say too much, but we're still missing critical pieces so it's not releasable right now...Believe me, we'd love to release it ASAP," as reported by Gotta be Mobile.
According to Mobile Magazine some progress has been made by popular entities such as pod2g, p0sixninja and planetbeing, however no final solution has yet been reached.
"They still don't have anything that is releaseable at this stage and only have a jailbreak in testing phases. The game of getting a working jailbreak for iphone 5 is like putting a puzzle together it seems, and they are still missing some pieces," according to the site.
It has been months since Apple launched its latest edition of the iPhone, namely iPhone 5, but while the product garnered a huge amount of customers, many customers are still waiting to get their hands on the pre-ordered iPhone 5.
In other iPhone 5 news, the two Chinese companies that manufacture the product, Foxconn and Hon Hai Precision Industry say the enormous demand for the iPhone 5 is increasing pressure on the production.
Hon Hai Precision Industry and Foxconn chairman Terry Gou told PC Mag, " Market demand is very strong, but we just can't really fulfill Apple's requests."
BTIG Analyst Walter Piecyk told CNET, "Apple might be trying to induce their customers to reserve a phone for next day pick up at one of their retail stores in the hopes of capturing additional sales...The reservation policy is the same for the iPad mini, but we have been able to find iPad mini inventory increasingly available in the handful of stores that we called."
A new report by a Chinese company, Hon Hai Percision Inc., which assembles Apple's iPhone 5 says that the delay is due to its new avatar.
The company released a statement to the Wall Street Journal as follows, "to make it light and thin, the design is very complicated," said an official at the company who declined to be named. "It takes time to learn how to make this new device. Practice makes perfect. Our productivity has been improving day by day."
According to CNEt, this shortage of iPhone units is due to the phone's new display technology.
Apple depends on two companies- Sharp and LG Display, to produce its display screens. The latest display combines in-cell touch sensing technology, whereas the display of the 4S had a separate touch-screen and separate display screen. The two companies say the new technology of the iPhone 5 display has posed challenges for a speedy production. In addition, the new display costs seven dollars more than that of its predecessors. The new display costs the company $44 per piece, while the 4S cost $34.
A new report suggests that iPhone 5 units might be shipped out as early as mid-December.
