Bill Cosby posts $1 million bail after being charged with sexual assault

Bill Cosby, whose legacy has been marred by numerous accusations of sexual assault, has been the center of the headlines in recent months. The comedian faces three felony charges of aggravated indecent assault in the case.

On Wednesday, the comedian arrives in court to be arraigned in Pennsylvania courtroom to face sexual charges. Cosby looks very weak while carrying a crane and wearing a gray sweater. While walking, the attorneys assisted him into the courthouse. He appeared to have a hard time seeing as he was guided to a courtroom seat.

The judge have ordered him to surrender his passport and have set Cosby's bail at $1 million, of which he will have to pay 10% on Wednesday. It was reported that the actor did not enter a plea. He was then asked whether he understood the proceedings, and Cosby replied with a booming voice and a familiar smile on his face saying 'yes.'

After the short arraignment,Bill Cosby then went to the police station where he was booked for protocol, located in Cheltenham Township. He then posted bail and afterwards left the police station. Bill Cosby's next court hearing is scheduled for Jan. 14.

Considered to be a TV legend, he was accused of sexually assaulting while drugging former Temple University employee Andrea Constand. This happened when she visited his suburban Philadelphia home back in 20014. It was reported that Cosby 'sought to incapacitate' the former employee by giving her wine and a mix of pills that sent her consciousness to flicker on and off. This left Andrea Constand unable to consent to sexual activity.

Montgomery County district attorney-elect, Kevin Steele, said that the investigation involved a 'relationship' between Cosby and Constand. The comedian became a 'friend' and at the same time 'mentor' to Ms. Constand. He added that 'the evidence is strong and sufficient to proceed' and that a person in that state cannot give consent.

Bill Cosby's lawyers have repeatedly denied these accusations, which spans for 40 years now. Meanwhile, earlier this month, Bill Cosby filed a defamation suit against seven of his accusers. His lawyers emphasized that their camp will mount vigorous defense against this unjustified charge and expect the Bill Cosby will be exonerated by a court of law.
