Facebook Losses Lawsuit Against Lawyers of Paul Ceglia

By

Manhattan Appeals Court Tossed the lawsuit Facebook filed against the lawyers of Paul Ceglia. Last year, December 29, the Ney York Appeals Court officially ended the lawsuit.

According to New York Post, Facebook bullied the lawyers into stopping Ceglia's case. Back in 2010 Paul Ceglia said he has shares in Facebook because he was in a contract with the founder, Mark Zuckerberg, about his website for his business in 2003. Ceglia's lawyers sued Facebook in behalf of him. Facebook then sued the DLA Piper and other two law firms because the law firms knew that the documents Ceglia gave them were forged but they still pursue the lawsuit.

NBC News reported that a rule that favoured Facebook Chief Executive Mark Zuckerberg earlier last year was overturned. Lack of evidence was seen by the Appellate Division in Manhattan and the Court said there was not enough evidence that the lawyers of Ceglia knew it was a fabricated document by the criminal. Federal prosecutors believed the contract he presented was fake. He was charged with criminal charges but was freed on bail before the trial set on May 4, 2015. Last year March, Ceglia removed his electronic ankle bracelet and disappeared, along with his wife, two children and a dog.

Reuters stated that a judge told Facebook that they could pursue claims that the law firms new about the forgery. However, in a 4-0 decision, the appeals court explained that Ceglia passed a lie detector test that experts tested. They also reported that Facebook is thinking if they should appeal. According to a spokesperson, the law firms should be held accountable because they knew about the criminal thing Ceglia did.

The law firms said that Facebook was bullying them and those acts are not permitted in the courts. A lawyer at DLA Piper believed that justice was served with the decision.
